Right out of high school I went to Susquehanna University to study biology. The eventual goal was to become a veterinarian. As it turns out you need to have more than a love of animals and a passing interest in biology to become a veterinarian. I lasted less than one semester.Show More
After about a year of working at Dunkin' Donuts my girlfriend, now wife, encouraged me to go back to school. So far I've earned a bachelor's degree in Graphic Design from the Pennsylvania College of Technology, and I'm currently earning a bachelor's degree in Web and Interactive Media from Penn Tech via distance learning.
In the summer before my last semester in graphic design at Penn Tech I interviewed at AdTrak 360 for a summer internship. To my surprise they offered me a position as a designer, and I promptly took them up on the offer.Show More
I was put in the email department, creating HTML emails. I enjoy working in a professional atmosphere, with fun people.
AdTrak 360 has taught me many things, but I feel I need to get into a more forward thinking environment to grow as a designer.
I'm husband to a lovely woman, Aislinn, and father of an energetic three year old girl, Morgan. My wife has chosen to be a stay at home mom for the formative years of Morgan's life. Morgan is currently focusing on Adventure Time and Megablocks at this stage in her life.Show More
Aislinn was the one who encouraged me to go back to school and make something of myself. My family is my motivation to work my hardest and, in general, keep myself on a path to success.
In addition to my wife and daughter we have a dog, four cats, two ferrets, and a boa constrictor. So we tend to have a busy household.
Between going to school online part time, working full time, and being a good dad I don't have an excess of free time. However, when I do have some time to myself I generally spend it playing a video game, commonly with my wife.Show More
I have several hobbies that are on the back burner until I have a little more time on my hands. Such as photography, both digital and film, and playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends.
One thing I do that is purely for me right now is co-host, and webmaster for the Popular Outcasts Podcast. The site was built before I started learning code so its a bit hacked together, but slowly and surely I apply the new things I learn to it in my free time.
The plan that got me through the toughest times in Penn Tech was to move to the west coast and work for an awesome company such as Steam, or Wizards of the Coast. To be honest though, I could gladly retire at a company that I enjoy going to work for every day, and supports my family comfortably. My plan right now is to never stop learning. I want to make myself a graphic designer/web developer combo that companies fight to have.
